A BLAZE ripped through a house this morning destroying around half of the ground floor.
The fire began in a two-storey terraced house in Devonshire Road, Walthamstow, shortly before 7.45am.
Crews from Walthamstow, Leyton and Homerton fire stations battled the flames for around 40 minutes before bringing it under control.
Two people managed to flee the burning building before firefighters arrived and were treated by paramedics.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
