STUDENTS, parents and teachers were toasting their success today as it was announced all the borough's schools performed well in the most recent round of exams.
The latest school league tables published today reveal that Redbridge's GCSE results are among the best of any local authority in the country.
Meanwhile, the borough's A-level results were in line with the national average, and showed an improvement in overall grades for the third year in a row.
An impressive 77.5 percent of pupils across Redbridge achieved five or more A* to C grades in their GCSEs, which was above the national average 70 percent and enough to put Redbridge in 12th place in the national league table.
Including the core subjects of Maths and English, 64.5 per cent gained five or more A* to Cs – the sixth best of all local authorities and well above the national figure of 49.8 percent.
None of Redbridge's school failed to meet the minimum benchmark of 30 percent of student reaching five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C.
A statement from Redbridge Council said: “These results demonstrate the continued commitment of staff, the support from parents and carers, the hard work of students and the excellent standard of teaching in Redbridge schools and show Redbridge schools’ commitment to increasing opportunities for more young people to go on to higher education, employment or further training.”
