PUPILS and staff at Norlington School for Boys have raised £480 for the Haiti earthquake appeal.
Funds were raised during a non-uniform day on Friday and pupils at school in Norlington Road, Leyton, where pupils donated a pound for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
The DEC brings together leading aid charities such as the British Red Cross, Save the Children, Oxfam and Action Aid.
Deputy headteacher Guy Persaud said: “The earthquake has been devastating and the pupils and staff were keen to do their bit to help.
“The boys don’t need much of a reason to wear their own clothes but in this instance they were keen to do so to help out those who have suffered and lost their homes and families in the quake."
Donations can be made to the DEC by phoning 0370 60 60 900.
