A FUN-packed weekend is in store for visitors to one of the borough's top attractions next month, as it celebrates a year since its long-awaiting reopening.
Valentines Mansion, in Valentines Park, Ilford, will be hosting a weekend full of events on Saturday February 13 and Sunday 14 to celebrate one year it opened it's door to the public following and extensive refurbishment.
Also on Sunday, the mansion's artist's studio will hold an open day at its location beneath the old servant's quarters, where members of the public will have a chance to meet artists themselves and view some of their work.
The beautiful dates from 1696, when it was constructed as a home for the Tillotson family. The last private resident, Sara Ingleby, died in 1912, and the council bought the building soon after, after which it was variously used as a refugee home during wartime and a health centre.
