PEOPLE from across the borough will gather to remember one of the darkest periods in modern history later this month.
Hundreds of people are expected to attend Redbridge's Holocaust Memorial Day event for remembrance and reflection on January 27th, which will mark 65 years since the end of the holocaust.
The UK's annual Holocaust Memorial Day mark the liberation of the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau in Poland in 1945 at the end of the Second World War.
The event will be held at the Holocaust Memorial Gardens in Valentines Park, Ilford, from 11am.
