A RESIDENTS association celebrated 30 years of community activism by throwing a children's party.
The Bushwood Area Residents' Association (BARA) in the Bushwood area of Leytonstone was formed in the 1970s by residents Violet Eddy and Sheila Dowsett and now has 340 members.
On Saturday afternoon, they threw a children's party in Lister Hall, Lister Road, Leytonstone, with a programme of games and activities.
Vice-chairwoman of BARA Katy Smith said: “With face painting, fancy dress, disco, games and lots of lovely food, they really did have a ball.
“Thanks to Sue, Julie, Gale and Debbie for all the preparation and everyone else for helping on the day. Here's to another 30 years, but hopefully not such a long wait for another party.”
