AN aerobatics flight in a bi-plane, tickets for West Ham United versus Manchester City, and a day in a London recording studio are all due to go under the hammer at a charity auction.
Organisers of the Scarlet Auction in aid of St Clare Hospice hope the event at at Theydon Bois Village Hall, on Friday, February 12, will raise £30,000.
Theydon Bois resident Steve Midgley came up with the idea of the auction after he visited the Hastingwood-based hospice last year.
He said: “I have lived here for 16 years yet this was my first visit and the experience was humbling. I left the hospice deeply moved and within the space of a few moments I realised that I have spent 46 years having made little difference to anybody other than my immediate family. It’s time to help other people far less fortunate than myself.”
The auction evening starts at 7pm with a champagne reception and canapés, followed by a two-course dinner.
Tickets priced £25 are available by calling 020 8502 0122.
