A PRIMARY school is seeking former pupils to help it celebrate its centenary.
Barclay Primary School, in Canterbury Road, Leyton, marks its 100th birthday in June this year.
The school will host a week of activities, from June 13, including an Edwardian day, in which staff will wear Edwardian costumes and base lessons on those of the era, and the burying of a time capsule.
Organisers are keen to contact old pupils to help the school celebrate the landmark.
Sara Turle, Barclay Primary School senior learning mentor, said: “As one of the largest primary schools in the country now with around 960 pupils, times have certainly changed over the last century and we really do want to hear from former pupils going as far back as possible.”
It is hoped that former pupils might speak to children about past life at the school.
Any former pupils interested in taking part should call Mrs Turle on 0208 539 6777.
