A SUSPECT has been arrested in the investigation into a brutal kidnap and murder.
The 25-year-old man from Ilford was arrested this morning (Wednesday January 20) on suspicion of the murder of Syed Abbass.
He is currently being held at an east London police station.
Mr Abbass, 24, was kidnapped from his home in Earlham Road in Forest Gate on September 7 last year at just after 3am. He was later found partially-clothed and beaten in Flanders Road, East Ham, a few hours later.
He died of head injuries at the Royal London Hospital the following afternoon.
Three other men have already been arrested in connection with the crime. Vikar Khan, 22, of Walthamstow, and Blaize Linkulu, 24, of Tottenham are both remanded in custody and due to appear at the Old Bailey on March 15.
Another man, 23, was bailed to return to an east London police station in February while the investigation continues.
