THE victim of a stabbing in a busy shopping street is in a “critical” condition.
As previously reported by the Guardian, a 25-year-old man was rushed to hospital earlier today after being stabbed in Station Road, Chingford.
Police have since said he is in a critical condition.
Officers and ambulance crews were called to the scene, near the corner of Stanley Road, at about 2.05pm.
It is alleged the man was stabbed following an argument with another man.
Eyewitnesses said the injured man was conscious but bleeding heavily from a wound in his back.
Police confirmed they arrested a 20-year-old man at the scene and have detained him for questioning.
