A CAMPAIGN has been launched in Redbridge and around London to highlight the work of Safer Neighbourhoods Teams.
The 'Walking is Working' campaign is aimed at showing residents what officers are doing to tackle community issues.
It will include posters around the borough, featuring symbolic footprints, in a bid to demonstrate how officers and PCSOs walk the streets on residents' behalf.
Assistant Commissioner Ian McPherson, of Territorial Policing, said: "Safer Neighbourhoods Teams are working, that is what the communities tell us, and we remain committed to focusing on those issues that are at the heart of these communities.
"We will continue to gather intelligence, inform and respond to information that the local communities pass on to us.”
The campaign will run until February 14 and audio clips will also be played on radio stations including Kiss 100 and Capital.
Two 'ad vans' will also travel to Redbridge and across the capital, displaying animated versions of the posters.
