ANOTHER school pupil has been injured near the spot where a girl was hit by a bus just over a month ago.

A Trinity Catholic High schoolboy, needed hospital treatment after being struck in the eye by glass fragments in Woodford Green High Road at around 8.45am this morning (Thursday).

The glass is thought to have come from a broken bus window.

The accident, which involved a W13 bus at or close to the stop opposite The Castle pub, is the second time a school pupil has been injured in the area during the past few weeks.

Tanika McCook, 13, was dragged along the road after becoming caught in the door of the 179 bus just yards from the same spot on her way home from school on December 7.

The bus stop is used by hundreds of children travelling to and from school each day.

The boy involved in this morning's accident returned to school the same day after receiving treatment at Whipps Cross Hospital.

A spokesman for CT Plus - which operates the W13 - said: "CT Plus confirms that an incident, involving a W13 bus, took place at approximately 9.00am this morning in Woodford High Road. This matter is currently under investigation. Unfortunately we are unable to make any further comment at this stage."
