A WOMAN who was hit by a car at an accident blackspot on Monday night has died in hospital.
Police confirmed the news today (Friday) after the Guardian asked for an update on the condition of the 30-year-old, who has still not been named.
The woman suffered serious head injuries after being struck by a car while trying to cross the High Road in Woodford Green - near the junction with Forest Approach - at around 7pm, and was taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital.
The road was shut for five hours after the accident, which happened on the same stretch where popular boxing coach Norman Yearley was fatally injured in January 2008.
