A FAMOUS painting which gives an insight into the high society of Wanstead from the early 1700s will be the focus of a fascinating illustrated talk.
Jef Page will join members of of the Ilford Historical Society to hold a fascinating lecture on the work of William Hogarth, one of eighteenth-century Britain's most highly-regarded painters.
The Assembly at Wanstead House (1728-31) is one of Hogarth's most famous works and the event will explore the work and the artist's involvement with the area.
Everyone is welcome at the lecture which will take place at Ilford Hospital Chapel, in The Broadway, Ilford, on Monday February 8 at 7:30pm.
