POLICE investigating the death of a woman and her dog in a hit-and-run crash have arrested a man.
Sandra Toner, 51, died at around 5.20pm on Thursday (January 21) after being hit by a Nisan Navara in Parklands Road, Waltham Abbey.
Her pet Irish Wolfound was also killed.
Following the crash, the car continued along the road before smashing into two vehicles and some school railings further along the street.
Today (Saturday) police announced they had arrested an unnamed 51-year-old from Waltham Abbey on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the incident.
He has been quizzed by officers and bailed until March 19.
