A MEMORIAL service will be held in honour of a heroic father-of-one who died while trying to catch a pair of muggers.
Dozens of friends, family and other members of the community are expected to pay their respects to Sukhwinder Singh, who was was stabbed through the heart in Uphall Road, Ilford, at the junction with Victoria Road, Barking, on January 8.
The 31-year-old was killed after he chased after a pair of thieves who had seen mugging a women near Barking Tube station.
The service will be held at the Barking Gurdwara, North Street, from 6.00pm to midnight on Saturday, January 30.
Mr Singh's body is due to be flown to India later this month.
