PUPILS at a Jewish school got the chance to learn more about other faiths during a special question-and-answer session.
Youngsters at King Solomon High in Barkingside were able to quiz members of the borough's Three Faiths Forum when they stopped by for a visit last week.
Children from years eight and nine at the school prepared a list of questions for the 'multi-faith' panel, who were from Hindu, Muslim and Christian backgrounds.
The event was organised jointly by the school's Kehila (Jewish informal and community education and community cohesion) department and the Forum - which aims to build understanding between Redbridge's different religious groups.
Questions from students included: "In Christian churches do you all drink from the same cup?" and "My Muslim friend does not eat until sunset, do all Muslims do that?"
Debbie Danon, an education officer with the Three Faiths Forum, said: "However many of these sessions we do it is always exciting to see and hear young people asking intelligent questions with genuine curiosity and respect.
"We at Three Faiths Forum are delighted to work with King Solomon High School and they are setting a wonderful example of how single faith schools can engage with the wider community."
