TWO parking wardens have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after they were photographed during an sting by a national newspaper.
A 24-year-old man and a 29-year-old man are currently being questioned at Ilford Police Station on suspicion of supplying a class B drug.
The men – employees of Redbridge Council's contractor Acpoa – were photographed appearing to openly sell high-strength cannabis, known as skunk, while in uniform in broad daylight at a location in Ilford.
The warden was accompanied by his deputy manager during the alleged deal.
It was reported that one of the men also made suggestions that “nine times out of ten” he could get his customers off parking fines.
A Redbridge Council spokeswoman said: "We will continue to work closely with the police and Apcoa on this matter. Due to the on-going police investigations we are unable to comment further."
