DOG owners in Redbridge have been warned to 'scoop the poop' or face a hefty fine.
The council has urged residents to bag and bin their dog's mess as part of a wider campaign to clean up the borough.
Those spotted failing to clean up after their pooch could be slapped with an on-the-spot fine.
A council spokeswoman said: "While most dog owners are very responsible and do pick up after their pets, there is a small group of people who choose to ignore the rules.
"Dog fouling is often caused by people not watching their dog and not realising that it has fouled.
"If you own a dog, you are responsible for it, whether it's on or off the lead. Be aware of where your dog is and what it’s doing at all times.
"Dog mess is a nuisance and is associated with various diseases. Dog owners should always clean up after their dog in public places."
Untidy front gardens, fly-tipping, fly-posting, graffiti and littering are also being targeted by the council as part of its Cleaner Greener campaign.
The authority has urged residents to report those breaking the rules on: 8554 5000 on its website at: redbridge.gov.uk
