A COUNTRY singer has achieved one of his lifelong dreams and scored a number one single, only a year after he swapped his life mopping floors at a primary school to become an international recording artist.
Sam Millar, 46, from Woodford Bridge, reached number one in the New Christian Music (NCM) Country Chart with his song 'House Full of Love', which also reached number two in both NCM's UK and European charts.
Sam – a former caretaker at Coopersale Hall School in Epping - thanked the Guardian for it support in helping him reach the top of the pops.
He said: “I'm absolutely delighted with the result and it's all down to you guys at the Guardian really.”
But father-of-four Sam is not resting easy after his latest success and is looking to continue with plans to organise a tour and take his music to a wider audience.
Sam said: “I'm working without a manager so I'm just trying to push on with it all. I've got a gig coming up at Lakeside and I'm trying hard to organise a tour, so I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me.”
Sam's latest album 'Saturday Night' is available now. For more information and to listen to his music, visit sammillar.com.
