POLICE have re-issued an appeal for witnesses to a robbery in which a car was set alight with the driver inside, leaving him with horrific burns.
The victim had parked his blue Mercedes in Kingston Road, Ilford, at around 1.10am on Sunday, April 26, last year.
Three young black males then approached the vehicle, dragged the driver out the door and ransacked the car.
The man was then thrown back into the car, before the vicious thugs doused it in petrol and set it alight.
The victim managed to escape from inside the vehicle and run home after the perpetrators had fled the scene.
He was taken to King George Hospital in Ilford and treated for burns to his face, arms and hands.
The suspects all worse black clothing and one was wearing a bandana.
Anyone with information on the attack should contact DC Jen Watson in the Robbery Squad on 020 8345 2656 or call Crimstoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
