HOLOCAUST survivors, councillors and members of the public gathered to remember some of the darkest times of modern history earlier today (January 27).
Mayor of Redbridge, Councillor Thomas Chan, spoke about the legacy of the Holocaust at the service, which took place at the Holocaust Memorial Gardens in Ilford.
Council leader Keith Prince also addressed the audience, before Holocaust survivor Issy Hahn very movingly recalled his experiences.
Students from King Soloman High School in Ilford conducted readings, and prayers were offered by Reverend Ken Hyde of Broadmead Baptist Church and Rabbi Sufrin of Chabad Lubavitch, before wreaths, prayers and token of remembrance were laid on the Holocaust Memorial Stone.
