PUPILS learned vital lessons about staying safe on Redbridge's roads when a hard-hitting play was performed at their school.
Year One youngsters at Forest School were left in no doubt about the dangers they face after watching The Price - an drama based on the experiences of a television reporter.
George Paynter, a teacher at the school, in College Place, Snaresbrook, said the play was an ideal way of getting the safety message across.
He said: "(The play) told the story of Slick, an up-and-coming TV presenter, who wanted to get the message of Road Safety across to viewers, despite his bosses wanting to show car chases and crashes.
"At the end of the play, Slick's reasons for wanting to tell the public about the importance of road safety became clear when he told his own story.
"An ideal balance of comedy and serious issues was achieved and the First Years left entertained and informed. The play was sponsored by TfL who also provided every pupil with a Be Seen, Be Safe bag, to help reinforce the message."
