A NEW loyalty card scheme designed to encourage residents to use their local shops will be launched in Wanstead this morning (Monday).
The Redbridge Card, which entitles holders to discounts, savings and special offers at participating stores across the borough, will be shown off by Cllr Keith Prince during a visit to Blush Temple florists in Wanstead High Street at 11.00am.
The council hopes the scheme will give Redbridge's high streets and businesses a boost as the economy emerges from the downturn.
The free card is available from libraries across the borough and from the council's One Stop Shop.
Traders wanting more information about the scheme should contact Tasleem Hamid on: 8708 3042.
Information on what the card offers shoppers is available on the council's website at: redbridge.gov.uk.
