AN East End Pearly Queen has been announced as the star attraction of an afternoon tea for elderly and less mobile residents in Theydon Bois next month.
Peggy Oliver, who holds the title for the London borough of Redbridge, will speak of her 25 years in the role and even put on a few musical numbers during the event on Friday March 12.
The day is organised by the parish council and will take place between 2.30pm and 4.30pm at Theydon Bois village hall.
Tea and cakes will also be available.
Call Sally or Greville at the Parish Office on 01992 813442 for more information and to book a place.
Residents are also being encouraged to contribute their own ideas for the next afternoon tea event, which will be held on Friday June 11. Call Sally or Greville on the above number for more.
