A Chingford restaurant has raised more than £800 for victims of the Haiti earthquake by holding a charity event.
Chutney Joe, in The Green, asked diners to come to the restaurant last Tuesday to raise funds for the disaster-struck country.
The event attracted about 60 people and raised £844, which has been given to the Disasters Emergency Committee's Haiti Appeal.
Owner Maruf Khan, 35, said: "We decided to hold the event after seeing the events unfolding on the news and we felt we had a responsibility to help.
"I was overwhelmed by the response and would like to thank everybody who participated in the event."
