A LEADING children's charity is appealing to black, Asian and mixed race families across the borough to become adoptive parents.
Children's Charity NCH London Black Families aims to find adoptive families and individuals for babies, toddlers and children from a similar racial group that local authorities are unable to place themselves.
The charity is trying to increase the number of black, Asian and mixed race families willing to adopt so youngsters can be placed in a family which reflects their racial, cultural and religious needs.
People wishing to adopt through NCH are being advised not to be put off by the demanding process.
Preparation and training is given to families before the placement begins, and support continues once adoption is underway.
Anyone interested in more information on the process can call NCH on 020 7582 3687 or visit their website at www.nch.org.uk/londonblackfamilies
