OLDER residents of the borough who find the financial complexities of preparing for retirement daunting can now turn to a new book for advice.
Because people in their fifties now have higher expectations of retirement than any other generation before them, Age Concern has launched The Complete Money Plan a step-by-step guide to help your money last a lifetime.
The book offers jargon-free advice on areas such as pensions, investments, savings and debt. It also examines how to handle other life changing situations including redundancy, buying to let, starting up your own business and flexible working.
Gordon Lishman, director general at Age Concern, said: "The key to a happy retirement lies in the preparation. Taking simple measures as early as possible will help to avoid a disappointing retirement."
The Complete Money Plan is priced at £6.99 and is available from Age Concern by calling 0870 4422120.
