LONDON'S grant giving charity, Bridge House Trust has awarded more than £100,000 to Waltham Forest charities this week.
Bridge House Trust the grant-giving arm of the Corporation of London, the local authority for the square mile.
The charities to benefit are as follows:
- Kiran Asian Women's Aid will receive £97,000 to appoint a children's service manager to help children affected by domestic violence
- Out of School Childcare Activity and Recreation will receive £5,000 to setup a four-week programme of activities for children over the summer holidays
- Centre International Des Compassions Les Bontes De L'eternel, a refugee organisation, will receive £5,000 to run a music programme for young refugees
- Magnolia Promotion will receive £500 to educate young people interested in a career in music and to help them set-up a stage and operate a PA and lighting system.
Clare Thomas, chief grants officer at Bridge House Trust, said: "We've got involved in some very exciting Waltham Forest projects so far this year and are keen to support future projects in the area, so we'd love to hear from any other Waltham Forest groups."
