A LEADING veterinary charity is warning pet owners that gardens could be full of hazards during the summer months.
The PDSA, which has a surgery in Woodford Bridge Road, is urging owners to take a closer look at the plants in their flower beds, which could be poisonous to their four-legged friends.
When using electrical tools the charity warns that trailing power cables can attract animals that want to play. A 'trip plug' or switch that cuts out an electrical supply could save your pet's life.
Pesticides, such as slug and snail killers, are the most popular chemicals used in the garden, and the most dangerous to pets, so buy pet friendly products wherever possible.
If your pet is injured or you suspect your pet has been poisoned, the PDSA says you must seek veterinary advice immediately.
