BAT enthusiasts in the borough can watch and listen out for them on a special walk organised by the council.
Members of the public can join Epping Forest keepers and the council's nature conservation officer for a walk around Hollow Ponds between 8.30pm and 10pm on Tuesday, August 24, using bat detectors to locate and identify these often misunderstood creatures.
The walk begins in the main car park near Hollow Pond, Whipps Cross Road, opposite James Lane, Leytonstone.
