A KNITTING group has been busy making blankets for patients at the Special Care Baby Unit at Whipps Cross Hospital.
The Knit and Chat group at the Children Centre at Barclay Primary School, in Canterbury Road, Leyton, presented their creations of booties and blankets to staff at the Leytonstone hospital on Wednesday.
The group is facilitated by Carole Bench, office administrator at the Children Centre, and was set up to help members of the community to make new friends, while having the opportunity to improve their knitting skills.
The ladies have already knitted a wide range of clothing and toys for their children and are now working on sets of finger puppets for the toddlers sessions.
If you are interested in joining the Knit and Chat group, call Carole Bench at Barclay Children’s Centre on 8518 7015.
