THERE were celebrations at Leyton charity shop which was awarded for its fund-raising.
The PDSA shop in Leyton raises funds to provide free veterinary treatment in the area for the pets of people in need.
Staff received a visit from PDSA Trustee, Roger Hills, on Thursday to congratulate them on achieving the fifth highest profit of all its stores.
Mr Hills said: “I’m delighted to be visiting Leyton to congratulate the dedicated team of staff and volunteers striving to raise funds for sick and injured pets.
"This year, Leyton store achieved the fifth highest profit in the country, beating off competition from over 170 shops, which is a fantastic accomplishment.”
The shop celebrates 11 years of trading this year.
PDSA area retail manager, Brian Gibson,said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be receiving this award, especially given the current economic situation."
