A CHARITY dedicated to fighting against one of the most deadly forms of cancer has organised a football fundraiser.
Development of Pancreatic Cancer Research (DPCR) will host a six-a-side football tournament and fun day later this month at Fairlop Powerleague in Hainault.
Alongside the football competition, there will be fun activities for all ages including a bouncy castle and a giant picnic.
The winner of the tournament stand to get their hands on a £500 prize, donated by Harriet Ellis Medical Recruitment Group.
Pancreatic cancer has one of the highest death rates of all cancers with a survival rate of 3 pecent, which is the same as 40 years ago, yet only commands 1 percent of research funding.
Once diagnosed it is not uncommon for the patient to die within 6 months.
DPCR aims to change these horrific statistics and to make the public more aware of this silent killer.
The charity's profile received a real boost over the last few months after Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp became its patron.
The event takes place on Sunday June 6, with tournament entry costing £99 per team.
