ONGAR: Pickles 'lands cabinet post'
ONGAR Conservative MP Eric Pickles looks set to take up a place in David Cameron's new coalition cabinet.
The Department for Communities and Local Government has listed Mr Pickles as its new secretary of state.
However the post is yet to be officially confirmed.
Last week the MP, who is also chairman of the Conservative Party, was re-elected with 28,792 votes in the Brentwood and Ongar constituency, gaining a swing of 3.1 per cent from the Liberal Democrats.
