THERE were major jams on the M11 this afternoon after a lorry containing around 17 tonnes of magazines caught fire.
The southbound lane was closed for several hours near junction 4 by the A406 in Woodford Green.
An investigation has been launched into its cause.
No-one is believed to have been hurt.
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said it was called just after 11am.
The blaze was extinguished at around 12.40pm.
Crews from Woodford, Chingford and Loughton fire stations all attended the scene.
