OVER a hundred school pupils will hold a sponsored skipathon in aid of London Air Ambulance next week.

Pupils aged three to 11 at Snaresbrook College Prep School in Woodford Road, South Woodford, will skip for an hour in teams next Friday (May 21), with the younger ones bouncing on hopper and trampettes.

The pupils have already enjoyed a cinema afternoon and a craft fair in aid of the charity, raising an impressive total of £1,160 for the charity in the process.

Deputy headteacher Sue Higgins said the school hoped that the 150 or more pupils that will take part could help the school reach the £1,500 mark.

Mrs Higgins said: "We had someone down a few weeks ago to talk about the air ambulance and said they don't actually recieve any funding.

"My nephew was taken from the middle of a football pitch after he was knocked unconscious.

"It's such an important service."
