A THEATRE company has won a prestigious award in the All-England Theatre Festival.
Walthamstow theatre company The Wadham Players Theatre Company, based in Hale End Road, beat stiff competition from theatre companies from across the England to win the semi-final of the All-England Theatre Festival.
The Festival decides who is the best theatre company in England to represent England in a British final against teams from the rest of the UK.
The Wadham Players performed their production of "The Dumb Waiter" by Harold Pinter in front of an audience from around the country at the Chequer Mead Theatre in East Grinstead on Saturday.
Director of the play, Michael Michael, from Highams Park said: "This proves that the drama and theatre we have here in Waltham Forest is some of the very best in the country."
The company will peform in the England final in Burton-On-Trent on June 5.
The Wadham Players are performing the Grimm Brothers version of "Cinderella" at the Waterworks Nature Reserve in Lea Valley Park, Lea Bridge Road, in Leyton, on July 10 at 3pm.
