SMALL businesses are being asked to give their views on the recession to London Mayor Boris Johnson.

Mr Johnson, is inviting business owners from across London to a Business Question Time event on May 24, which will feature a discussion with a pannel of experts.

Experts include Tim Campbell, winner of The Apprentice, and Sky Business Correspondent Dharshini David.

The Mayor has already launched an Economic Recovery Action Plan (ERAP) and a £3 million loan fund, designed to help struggling small businesses affected by the recession.

Mr Johnson said: "London's smaller businesses are without doubt the backbone of the capital's economy, giving true meaning to the phrase small business is big business.

"These firms operate in every sphere and are masters of innovation, employing many Londoners and generating large amounts of cash for the capital.

"It is vital we do all we can to help them through the recession.

"This event is a golden opportunity for London’s business community and residents alike to tell me how City Hall can work harder to help keep the innovators innovating."

The event will be held at the Mermaid Conference and Events Centre, Blackfriars, from 7pm on Monday, May 24.
