DETECTIVES have released CCTV footage of a man seen shortly before he was shot dead in Leyton.
Errol McKenzie, 37, from Leyton, was discovered with a gunshot wound in playing fields in Seymour Road, Leyton, in the early hours of April 11.
The London Ambulance Service attended but he was prounounced dead at the scene. A post mortem revealed he died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Trident detectives, who investigate gun crime in the black community, have released CCTV footage in an appeal for information about his death.
It shows Mr McKenzie entering a convenience store in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, at about 11.15pm on Saturday, April 10.
He bought alcohol before leaving the shop and turning right.
An hour and a half later he was shot dead.
A reward of up £20,000 is available to anyone able to provide information which would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the person, or people, responsible.
Detective Inspector Lucy Kilgour, of Trident, said: "We are releasing this footage in the hope that someone will recognise Mr McKenzie and remember seeing him that night.
"At this stage it would appear that he was a completely innocent victim, and it remains unclear how he has found himself the victim of a callous murder."
No arrests have been made.
