DADDY is coming to Leytonstone!
No, not your father, but the American acoustic band.
They're playing What's Cookin's night next Wednesday (May 26) at the Sheepwalk pub on the High Road.
The duo's rock and roll Americana has attracted praise the world over, and already have two albums under their belts.
Support comes from three piece country rock band Society, who hail from West Sussex.
Also playing is Swedish singer songwriter Old Lost John.
Doors for the gig open around 8.30pm and entry is free – although donations are welcome.
It's Tunnel Vision Friday at the Plough Inn, Walthamstow, this week (May 21).
Resident hosts Graham Larkbey and the Escape Committee top the bill, supported by Nigel Mears, the Station Cats and Leytonstone-based Americana singer Emma Scarr.
It's free and starts around 8.30pm.
Semi-famous Welsh gothic groovers Blue Gillespie play the pub on Saturday (May 22).
The lead singer is perhaps best known for his starring role alongside John Barrowman in Doctor Who spin-off show Torchwood, and the group have a legion of devoted fans.
Organisers are expecting it to be a sell-out, but if any tickets are still left on the night they will be available for £9 on the door.
Support comes from local indie rock band W.I.T.
Doors open at 7.45pm for an 8.15pm start.
Singer songwriter David Ferrard plays Walthamstow Folk club's night at the Plough on Sunday (May 23).
His tunes are described as contemporary-sounding but with echoes of '60s folk.
Entry is £6, or £5 for concessions. It starts at 7.30pm.
Monday (May 24) at the Plough is free blues jam night from 9pm.
Waltham Abbey Folk Club has a Singaround night on Monday (May 24). Entry is £1.50 and it starts at 8.30pm.
Paper Street play the Standard Music Venue in Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow, this Thursday (May 20).
The performance is part of promoters Club Bus Wind's unsigned band night.
Also taking to the stage are Our People Versus Your People, ReachBack, Watch Out Vegas and Burn So Bright.
Entry is £6, or £5 with a band flyer and doors open at 8.30pm for a prompt start.
Ritchie Blackmore tribute band Rainbow Rising play the venue on Friday (May 21). Entry is £9 and doors are at 8.30pm.
While on Saturday (May 22) Madness tribute funsters One Step Behind headline the Standard. Entry is £9 and doors are at 8.30pm.
