A NEW £6m facility at Highams Park School was officially opened during a ceremony.
The new buildings, which include a teaching area and sports centre, were opened by benevolent businessman Jack Petchey.
They were also named after him, in recognition of a £50,000 contribution he made towards the project.
Facilities include a sprung dance floor, a cycle and fitness track, 10 teaching rooms with computer facilities and meeting rooms.
Headteacher Anthony Perrett said: "The new facilities will substantially improve the experience of children in the school and people in the local community both now and in the future.
"We are delighted and grateful that the Jack Petchey Foundation has been so generous to the school and helped us build these wonderful facilities."
Mr Perrett said the buildings would benefit the wider community in Highams Park.
