TAXI drivers in Redbridge will be able to fly the flag for England during the World Cup after getting the green light from transport bosses.
Cabbies are normally barred from displaying flags or other banners from their vehicles, leading to fears that they would not be allowed to show their support for the national team during the summer.
But Transport for London (TfL), which provides licences for black taxis and mini-cabs in the capital, said the rules will be relaxed before and during the finals to allow drivers to join in the fun.
A TfL spokeswoman said: "As part of the build up to the World Cup we are encouraging drivers to get behind their team and fly the flag for the country of their choice."
