A CAR jacker stole a Range Rover after forcing its driver to stop by leaving a recycling box in the middle of the road.
The thief overpowered the 75-year-old man after he got out to move the container, in Penhurst Road, Ilford on Friday May 7.
The man - who is described as white, in his late 20s and of athletic build with short fair hair - drove off in the silver-coloured car into Tomswood Hill towards Barkingside.
Police have appealed for information about the theft, which took place at about 12.35pm.
A police spokeswoman said: "The victim was dazed after this happened but he is aware that other people came to his aid and I would like any of these people to contact police."
