STUDENTS performed songs and dance at an Adult Learners' Week event.
The London Regional Adult Learners’ Week Awards Ceremony was held at Waltham Forest College as part of the annual event, which is held each May to encourage adults to learn something new and celebrate existing students.
The Mayor of Waltham Forest Cllr Anna Mbachu was special guest at the event at the college in Forest Road, Walthamstow, on Tuesday.
Cllr Anna Mbachu said: "It’s really good to see what these students have achieved despite the hardships they have had."
During the interlude, entertainment was provided by the college’s Performance Arts students in association with Leyton dance company X7eaven.
Robin Jones, principal of Waltham Forest College, said: "Our students are a credit to the college and we are proud that they choose to come here. Today we acknowledge a few of those who have had to overcome a particular barrier in order to reach their goals."
