POLICE investigating a the rape of a woman in broad daylight have arrested a man in connection with the attack.
The Metropolitan Police Service confirmed that a 17-year-old man was last night arrested in Enfield.
He is currently being held in police custody and officer are still appealing for information about the attack.
The 29-year-old victim was attacked in a clearing in the wooded area behind High View Road in South Woodford on Wednesday afternoon, at around 2.50pm.
She was approached from behind by the man, who she said she had seen loitering around the area for around 30 minutes beforehand, who held his mouth over her hand and threatened to stab her, although the victim did not see any weapon.
After the attack, he made off on a dark-coloured mountain bike along the alley, heading towards Oakhurst Gardens.
The attacker is described as in his late teens, slim, black, of medium build with short black hair, wearing a green T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and carrying a small shoulder bag. He spoke with a local accent.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Sapphire Unit are investigating.
