A WOMAN who tormented her ex-boyfriend with a string of abusive and threatening phone calls has appeared in court accused of doing the same thing to his father.

Linzi Toumi, 42, was last month banned from several streets in Wanstead and South Woodford after she admitted carrying out a hate campaign against financial adviser Paul Hebden, 38, in September last year.

Mrs Toumi, who lives with her parents and husband in The Risings, Walthamstow, has now been charged with harassing Mr Hebden's father Trevor, 68, in March and April - while she was on police bail for the other offence.

Redbridge Magistrates Court, which heard about Toumi's previous conviction, was told that she had a “messy” break-up with Mr Hebden and had sent him a torrent of texts, calls and one abusive email after their five-month relationship broke down in August.

In the messages, Toumi pleaded with her ex-partner to get back together with her, before then urging him to kill himself.

It is alleged that following the onslaught on Paul, she then turned to his father Trevor, repeatedly calling his home in Richmond Way, Wanstead, in a similar abusive manner, despite being ordered by a court not to contact the family pending her trial.

In the previous case, the court heard Paul Hebden say that Mrs Toumi's harassment would have ruined him “if [it were] not for the support of my family”.

He said: “I feel very intimidated and I'm forced to look over my shoulder every time I go out due to the threats she's made to me.”

Mrs Toumi, who was issued with a restraining order and was sentenced to four months in prison suspended for two years for the previous offence, denies harassing Trevor Hebden.

The trial was adjourned after the court ran out of time due to a backlog of cases.

A vital witness's holiday has also delayed the case yet further, meaning it will not be resumed until Thursday September 9.

In the meantime, magistrates ordered Mrs Toumi to stay each night at her Walthamstow home and ordered her not to contact Trevor Hebden directly or indirectly.
