THE boss of London’s strategic health authority has resigned, saying his views on the future of services has “little in common” with the new coalition Government.

Sir Richard Sykes, chairman of NHS London, has informed health secretary Andrew Lansley of his decison following a Government announcement last week that it will scrap plans to change the way GPs and hospitals work.

NHS London has been the driving force behind a review of health services in north east London, launched with the intention of moving treatment out of hosptials and into community clinics and surgeries.

Sir Richard warned that other NHS London board members may also step down, according to the BBC.
