Alexandra Palace is the flagship London venue for National Family Week this year, and in celebration of this it has put together some exciting days out for the family. First in the line-up is a fun fair fully equipped with dodgems, rides, stalls with prizes and refreshments in the pavilion parks, which will be taking place from Thursday, May 27 to Sunday, June 6.
Pack your picnic and sunscreen and join in with the family picnic day on Monday, May 31. There will be live music, a lakeside family art trail, a family-friendly pub, fun fair, ice rink, face painters and stalls.
Calling all junior scientists with an eye for creepy crawlies, the BBC has organised a wild day out on Saturday, June 5, with activities such as worm charming, bug hunts, netting butterflies and tree trails. Scientists from OPAL and the Natural History Museum will be on-hand along with wildlife experts to help catch and learn more about the bugs in the park.
The events take place at Alexandra Palace, Alexandra Palace Way, Wood Green. Details: 020 8365 2121, www.alexandrapalace.com
