Half term is the perfect time to get out and about and learn more about nature, Epping Forest Field Centre is hosting a series of events for young nature enthusiasts during the holidays including: Forest Explorers and Minibeasts Drop In Day: A wide range of fun activities including minibeast hunts and sensory activities to help you discover more about the plants and animals that live in the forest. Tuesday, June 1, 1pm-4pm Forest Scavengers: Join a safari and discover the variety of plants and animals in the forest through fun games. June 2, 10am-12pm Tribal Bushcraft Skills: Form a tribe, create a tribal name and then build a shelter, June 2, 10am-12pm.
Teddy’s Forest Adventure: Bring your teddy along for an afternoon out exploring the forest. Discover what lives in the forest. June 2, 2pm-4pm.
Wildlife Detectives: Find and follow the tracks and signs made by the wildlife of the forest, June 2, 2pm-4pm.
Pondemonium: Go pond dipping with staff from the field centre to discover more about the animals that live in the pond, June 3, 10am-noon.
Pond Professors: Take part in a mini-scientific investigation and learn about the creatures that live in a pond, June 3, 10am-noon.
Highwayman’s Trail: Discover more about the life of Dick Turpin, make a highwayman’s mask and uncover hidden treasure, June 3, 2pm-4pm.
Woodland Wonders: Explore and learn about the trees in the forest using your different senses through fun games and activities. June 3, 2pm-4pm.
